Product Description

** All copper clasps are OUT OF STOCK! I'm searching for new copper clasps that are SOLID (there's lots of plated ones out there, but I'm holding out for solid copper!) but am having little to no luck. Until further notice, all copper kits will ship w/out a clasp. My apologies, but your local bead store will hopefully have something beautiful! I am hoping to have copper clasps back in stock sometime in November. **

Jens Pind (pronounced yens pint) is a gorgeous rope-like spiral chain. This weave demands a very precisely sized jump ring, too tight and it is impossible to weave, too loose and it falls apart completely.

Included is enough jump rings in your chosen weight to make a bracelet 9 inches in length, along with a sterling silver clasp of your choosing.

Not sure how to make this weave? I have a video right here!

12 gauge: uses 12g 6.0mm ID rings, makes a chain 10 mm thick
14 gauge: uses 14g 4.75mm ID rings, makes a chain 8 mm thick
16 gauge: uses 16g 4.0mm ID rings, makes a chain 6.5 mm thick
18 gauge: uses 18g 3.0mm ID rings, makes a chain 5 mm thick
20 gauge: uses 20g 2.5mm ID rings, makes a chain 4.3mm thick

The trickiest part of the jens pind weave is STARTING it. If you would like me to create a starter for you from the rings in your kit, I'd be happy to do so:
http://www.rainestudios-supplies.com/jens-pind-starter-chain/

This will give you a length of chain that you can add on to rather than having to start it yourself. To keep a starter for next time. make your chain longer than you need to, then remove rings to separate the last inch from your chain, and that can serve as the starter for next time.

Sadly, a starter in one gauge won't work as a starter for a different gauge.

Please take a look at the comparison photo for sizing reference when making your choice. Photos of jewelry are to show you what can be made with this kit and may not be pictured in the same metal - this item does not include finished jewelry.

Note: I usually use sterling silver clasp for brass pieces.

Not disappointed in this kit. It's a beautiful kit and makes into a beautiful bracelet. I made the bracelet with the 12 gauge rings. It was very easy to make, and Amy's made a good video to show you how to do it. Many thanks!

  3. Love all the premade kits. 5 Star Review

Posted by on 23rd Mar 2015

I ordered my first kit from Raine Studios and made my first chainmaille bracelet. The tutorial was perfect to learn from. I have now ordered my third kit and look forward to making a Jens Pend bracelet. I love the idea to be able to order the starter chain for the Jens Pend. This will help to begin the braceket without any frustration. I will continue to order from Amy. Thank you.
